Las Vegas - June 2022 (Part 3)
(Here are a few of the bars that I hit up this trip)
Berlin Bar (Arts District)
I liked this place right away probably due to the punk rock playlist they had sounding off inside. Located in the Arts District, this place also has some killer deals such as “$2 Tuesday” - like this $2 Lone Star and a $2 cheesesteak shown above.
They have great hotdogs and your typical bar eats menu. Pictured is the Rebel Dog – there is no way to eat these things elegantly – you need a lot of napkins.
They support a lot of local breweries so you can find a lot of those brews offered here along with a full bar. Great rock bar hangout.
Rebar & Davy’s Locker (Arts District)
These are two separate bars but I list them together because they are next to each other, owned by the same people, and share the same menu. They are pretty interchangeable - both are great beer and a shot bars (especially with the $2 happy hour beer). Situated in the heart of the Arts District, they very much embody the spirit of the area.
Rebar is known for having all of the knickknacks they use for décor actually for sale. They also have mystery bag beers and mystery shots available where you pay a set price and see what you get.
Nevada Brew Works (Arts District)
I came here as a local recommended this spot for their burgers. So of course, I had to follow up in my quest to find the best burgers in any town and they did not disappoint as the it was very good.
As you would expect this place has the tap lined wall offering up their brews but they also have a full bar. If you look close enough at the photo you can spot some very solid whiskey offerings.
Downtown Cocktail Room (Downtown)
This place fills up with locals because of their great happy hour. It gets the after-work crowd as well as couples getting drinks before dinner. I believe they call it the “Halfy Hour” because all their drinks are ½ price from 5-7.
Even without the happy hour deal, it’s a great bar with excellent and inventive cocktails.
They provide kind of a speakeasy type feel in the sense that the door is not completely obvious because it looks like a wall and has no handle. Just pull open the metal door in the photo above between the brick and the glass.
Commonwealth (Downtown)
This place has a great happy hour as well and it goes from 7-9 so obvious this place is more popping late. They are also home to the Laundry Room speakeasy which apparently is uber popular. Someone at the bar told me it’s like a 2 month wait list to go. I believe the door is located by that big picture on the wall at the end of the bar.
Griffin (Downtown)
I have always found this bar to be a nice place to chill out and hang. Maybe it’s the times that I go tend to be not that busy. I find it funny how they have a fireplace going inside with AC when it’s like 150 degrees outside – carbon footprint be damned!
They have Bell’s Two Hearted Ale on draft so that’s a point in the plus column for them.
Classy Casino Bars on the Strip
The bars listed below (Aft, Rossini, Mayfair Supper Club) all have some of the same things in common. Drinks are expensive, waitstaff are beautiful, and atmosphere is chill and comfortable.
Aft (Wynn)
Parasol Down was remodeled outside to become Aft with a boat deck theme. This has always been a favorite place of mine to relax with a drink - the remodel is nice but the older one was fine as well.
They have the Lake of Dreams show at night which is a pretty visually neat display that goes off every 1/2 hour (with a different show every 1/2 hour - they are not just repeating the same thing). You can also see if from the balcony in the Wynn if you don’t want to drop bucks on a table for food and drink.
Mayfair Supper Club (Bellagio)
This place previously was the Hyde. The bar is in the front entry area and they have a dinner theater in the back. They also have a view of the Bellagio fountains from the dining room area.
