Located around the Y past the Kmart, South Lake Brewing Co is in an area that doesn’t get a ton of tourist traffic since most people head down 50 or 89. It’s a real operating brewery so you get hit with the scent of the malt, yeast and hops when you enter.

Their brews are tasty (& I can’t say this of a lot of microbreweries). They have neat artwork on the walls and I think they have some of the best swag if you are into that sort of thing.

Very welcoming interior with low picnic style seating and some high tables. When the weather is good, they have plenty of outside seating with the benches in front and they built a beer garden on the side. It’s a place a people feel comfortable taking their kids to since it’s a very chill atmosphere.

Dogs are very welcome. They have a water station for the pups along with a jar with full sized dog biscuits!

The small bar by the taps is a nice place to hang out and they have outlets all along the bar seats so you can charge your devices. They also have one of those free charging stations where you can lock up your phone while it’s charging.

Note - that area of Tahoe doesn’t have a great cell service (for me anyway) so you’ll want to hook up to the bar wifi if you need to do a lot of interwebbing activity.
