The Showdown

So, this place makes the list for two reasons - the food and a pretty good whiskey selection. 

In North Beach across the street from Caffe Trieste, most things about the bar put it in the “standard good bar” category - pool table, nice atmosphere, great location, etc. The bar food, however, stands out.  

The Showdown is part of the Pour Guys group who also do the Tempest so the burger again is outstanding. That alone is worth the visit. I will admit it was late and I’d had a few when I ate this burger but I think my memory is good enough to recall that it was delicious. 

The whiskey selection is also pretty good. They have bottles here that are harder to find at other places so that and the food get the bar on this list.
