I don’t know what it is about this place but I always seem to wind up here when I’m staying in SF. Maybe because of its convenient location in the Union Square area or maybe because it opens pretty early on the weekends for day drinking.

It is a great casual bar and has a great whiskey selection. They partner with the liquor store next door (Cask) and are able to tap into that supply. They have a whiskey list which helps qualify them as a “real” whiskey bar.

During the pandemic they set up some really nice heated outdoor seating in the alley that basically doubled their space and hopefully they get to keep it.

They also serve up a very good Irish Coffee - as good as the Buena Vista in my opinion.
