The Homestead

I think if I lived around the Mission District in SF, the Homestead would be my hangout.

For starters - dogs are welcome so that is a huge checkmark in the positive direction. It is also a bit off the beaten path from Valencia and Mission so it attracts more of a local crowd than the weekend Mission visitors.

The bar also has the old school feel that I like. It is rustic, has been here for a while and has the tin ceiling and throwback wallpaper that proper classic old bars should have.
