Gunbarrel is located in the back of Heavenly Village but it’s namesake ski run is actually about a mile away by the Heavenly California Lodge - maybe they should be the Gondola Tavern?
The inside is fairly small with a tiny bar but the main attraction is the outside with the two fire pits. They have a small outdoor bar open when it’s busy and usually have live music.
Sitting outside takes a small leap of faith in the gondola engineering firm as the cars run directly over you if you are sitting outside. Perhaps that element of danger will make your drink more exciting. The fire pits are a nice set up on a cold day as they sit low enough and you can get close enough to actually get some warmth from them.
It’s a busy location on a nice day with solid food and drink. The menu is small but the food is pretty good. Also, a very good place to people watch as it is in a very high traffic area of Heavenly Village.
