Located in the back of the Social House restaurant, Community can be found behind the locked freezer door. The host/hostess needs to let you in. There is a wait on busy nights as it is tiny, like maybe 20 people tops? They have a 90-minute limit since they are so small and don’t want people to squat on the coveted seats. 

This place totally works. It has an authentic feel as I feel like I’m in a New York City speakeasy when I’m in there. They respect the craft. They care about the ice, they have their specialty drinks, and they have the tin ceiling that should be a pre-requisite of any quality bar.

They have a great whiskey selection but the allocated bourbons will be pricey as you would expect of the place like this. Someday I will need to get an absinthe just to see that water dripping thing in action since they are equipped with one. 

Amazingly for being so small they usually have high quality live music in there. 

I’ll admit that I was a bit skeptical when I heard of this place opened a few years ago but am so glad that this place is here.  

I would say that is THE place to go for a proper cocktail in Tahoe.
