Camino Brewery
Located in a sketchier location of San Jose down First street where the neighborhood always smells like weed, Camino Brewery provides some excellent beer and a great atmosphere.
I’m going to add microbreweries to my list of contributors that tend to revitalize and save decaying urban areas around the country (the others being hipsters, artists, and the gay community). This area will probably be gentrified in a few years and places like this should take some credit for bringing the neighborhood back to life.
The theme of the bar is the Camino de Santiago which the owners traveled in Europe and provides the bar it’s name.
This functioning brewery delivers very good beer which I cannot say about a lot of microbreweries. You can also pick up cans to go and they are able to can right at the bar if they don’t have what you want already canned.
Dogs have always been welcomed inside where they have big projection screens so you can catch games. One positive outcome of COVID is that they created this nice outdoor beer garden space on the side. At first it was just wood chips with picnic tables but now they have gravel and a full-on tent with heaters and TVs. It’s a great space that increased their capacity by a ton.
They also have food trucks there on weekends for your munchies or you can bring your own food as well.
