Brooks Bar (Edgewood)

Brooks Bar in the Edgewood golf course is a nice escape from the hustle and bustle of South Lake when it gets busy. Being a bit out of the way and upscale makes it less crowded than other places.

It used to be more open. Back in the day you could drive down and park yourself. I’ve even snowshoed with my dog along the beach in the winter - no more though. It’s valet parking now since they built the hotel and no pooches.

The bar is located in the clubhouse along with a restaurant and the pro shop. The bar is super nice. If I was a gazillionaire, my living room would look like this. I once had my electricity go out at my place in Tahoe and I just hung out here having drinks and watching football for the day waiting for my power to be restored. Staff is super nice as well (like not snobby as you might expect for a high-end golf course).

The views are amazing here with the cathedral style windows. From the bar, it’s more a view of the golf course although there is some lake view. The outside seating when it’s available in the summer definitely has the lake view. I’ve seen bald eagles here in the trees while hanging out in the bar.

I like how they take care to do the little things here to make it upscale, from having the nicest restrooms in Tahoe and even fabric coasters with their logo on it.
